What do we learn about on encounter weekends?

You will be taught about who Father God is (father heart of God), the reason we have been separated from God (sin), what Jesus did to bring us back into relationship (the cross), and how to bring everything Jesus did for us into our everyday experience (forgiveness, identity, and healing the heart). You then learn about getting free from things that held you (strongholds and deliverance). Lastly you learn about getting filled with the Holy Spirit (Holy Spirit), and looking at the future and our destiny as children of God (vision)!

These teachings are all to give you the foundation you need in order to have a stronger relationship with God and are also to equip you for life and everything it entails!

I'm not from Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area, can I still come?

We often take people who are from outside of Toronto, but we do want to have some relationship with you first. What we suggest is that you call us up and talk to us about when you want to come and why. In some circumstances, we are able to instead do an Encounter in your area as we have teams who travel to different churches and run encounters for them at their venue. Other times, it is best for you to join us here

Can you drive me home after the weekend?

We are only able to drive you from TACF to the campground and back to TACF. Unfortunately we can’t drop people off separately. It is your responsibility to get a ride from your house to the church and back again at the end of the weekend.

I don't have enough money, what should I do?

The best thing to do is to talk to us about your situation. If you are a part of a TACF cell group and regularly attend TACF, then we definitely want you to be able to come to an encounter weekend, and we believe that God will provide the money for you to come. Many people have been surprised by how God brought them the extra money they needed - some got extra shifts at work, unexpected gifts, friends and family who helped, even unexpected tax refunds! God will provide for your financial needs if you take them to Him and we’d like to also pray with you about this. So please talk to us if finances are the reason you can’t come.

Our Heavenly Father is the richest of the rich! Anything is possible when you have God on your side!!!

I'm under 18 and my parents don't want me to come can I still go?

Unfortunately, if you are under the age of 18, you need your parents’ permission in order to attend the encounter weekend. We encourage you to talk to them about it and explain why you want to go. Pray about it, and ask your cell leader for advice.

I'm not a Christian, will I still benefit from an encounter weekend?

Whether you are a Christian or not, God loves you and wants to reveal himself to you. If you have a willing heart and are open to the things of God, he will work in you and show himself to you. The weekend is about encountering God and we are not ashamed of that, and we believe you will find God when you seek Him with all your heart. Come and seek God this weekend.

I'm not in a cell yet, can I still come?

Yes. There is no pre-requisite to coming on the encounter weekend. We can help you find a cell leader if you would like on the encounter.

I have a friend who I think should come, can I sign them up on their behalf?

We encourage people to make their own decision to come. What we suggest you do is to talk to your friend/ child about the encounter weekend and encourage them to talk to someone from TACF about it and find out if they would like to go or not. But each person needs to sign up for themselves or have verbally agreed that they choose to go.
