What to Expect on Sunday Morning
Little Lambs Nursery - Birth to 23 months
Location - beside the Ark (at the end of the rainbow)
Our Nursery is a ministry to the whole family where parents and caregivers will find a beautiful and safe environment for children from birth - 23 months. A place where they can experience love in the Father's House through our trained volunteers. We are privileged to have a family doctor as one of our caregiving team.
Our Nursery coordinator, Anne Reid, brings such a peace to the children, that parents seldom need to leave the service, though our Nursery is equipped with a call system so that you can easily be notified if your child needs you. There is a small black box under the big screen at the front left of the sanctuary where we will display the number on your parent tag if you are being paged. Please keep your eyes on this spot throughout the service.
Safety
Only a parent can sign a baby in or out. Please do not send an older sibling to do this. Our sign-in procedure gives you the opportunity to communicate your child's needs so that his/her stay with us is the best it can be.
We have a caregiver ratio of one adult to one baby and two toddlers, with a maximum of 15 children in our facility. We do not receive children with a runny nose, fever, eye infection, or contagious rash. If you are not sure about your child's health status, please ask us upon arrival.
Program
We offer a short teaching time during the morning that includes song and hands-on discovery experiences that delight little ones as we introduce the concepts from 3 months old that:
1. God Made Everything!
2. God Loves You!
3. God Will Take Care of You!
4. God Loves to Talk with You!
These concepts will be reinforced in all our preschool classes to build a foundation of security and trust as the children's identity is formed as sons and daughters of their Heavenly Father.
Facilities
Our outer rooms are available upon your arrival on Sunday morning so you can feed or change your baby. Our trained volunteer staff will receive children from 11:15 am until 12:45 pm. Occasionally our service runs beyond this time, so we would ask you to please pick up your child no later than 12:45 pm, as our staff need to clean up before the leave.
We have a nursing mom's room with TV, providing you with the opportunity to enjoy the service while seeing to the needs of your infant. We also have an enclosed playroom with a window to the Nursery for parents to spend time with a fussy child or to decide if your infant/toddler is ready for our program, or if you are ready to leave him/her. Parents in this room are not included in our teacher/child ratio and due to our Child Protection Policy they are asked not to interact with the other children. Please remove your shoes before entering the playroom.
What to Bring
We require a diaper bag with baby diapers, cream and wipes, as well as a bottle or sippy cup (if used). We will provide juice and a snack half-way through our session. Soothers need to be attached to a clip so they are not shared or lost. Your baby will be changed once after snacktime unless a change is noticeably needed before then. Please be sure to send baby reasonably dry at check-in time.
