Families on Fire – March 2006

A conference to unite and minister to the whole family

Our first ever Families Conference at TACF was wonderful!  Families were truly impacted and it was so refreshing to have an opportunity to minister to all generations in worship, main sessions and then in workshops.  With 300 in attendance we laughed, cried and enjoyed the presence of God.  The preschoolers were loved and ministered to in a Vacation Bible School setting - Fiesta with wonderful, loving staff while we enjoyed the ministry of Carolin and Doug Sadler, Darrin and Daphne Clark, Anthony McLean, and Mark and Patti Virkler.

We all loved the teaching on forgiveness by Anthony,  he had us in stitches as the word of God was presented in such a fun and exciting way.  Soaking as families in an interactive and creative way was led by Belma Vardy and was a new experience for many.

We are hoping to make this an annual conference.  A conference where families can come to drink up the presence of God and find healing and then go home in HIS fullness to impact other families for God.

Here are a few comments from folks who attended:

"Our kids really learned from Daphne's teaching on Hearing God's Voice and Anthony's on Forgiveness.  The ministry among our family was great!  The props, skits, etc. all really helped to engage them."

"We were really blessed to be able to do something like this as a family."

"My 13-3/4 year old really enjoyed the messages/activities in the morning sessions."

"I loved the devotional worship dance and the river, WOW!  I've never done soaking before and I can't wait to take it back to my church!"

"Excellent topics for families to hear together, it made it more of a "we" thing rather than the "parents" and "kids."

"We loved the First Nations celebration."

"I really heard God speak to me during soaking!"

"We experienced tremendous healing together for a past trauma Soaking at the 'River'."

"The Virkler's sessions on 'Parenting in the River'  gave us loads of information, then one man asked if he would pray for us ... and when Mark did ... WOW -- Holy Spirit coming!"

"Thanks for the freedom to let our kids, run, sleep, dance, etc.  We felt truly welcomed, and ministered to, and much stronger because we came."
