CAMP FRESHWIND

Please note that this page contains information from an event that has already taken place in August 2009.  The 2010 Camp Freshwind details will be available in the early part of 2010.

Imagine being away from the city, surrounded by nature, being completely immersed in God culture, having an entire day of fun and going to bed having made tons of amazing new friends. This is only a glimpse of the awesome times we have at Camp Freshwind (FW).This year, we're running two Freshwind camps: a Jr. High camp (grades 7-8) and a Sr. High camp (grades 9-12).
Jr. High Camp (Grades 7-8)

Details:

The Jr. High Camp is open to students going into Grades 7 and 8 (though students going into Grade 9 are welcome to attend Jr. High Camp).  Jr. High Camp takes place from Sunday, August 23 to Saturday, August 29.  The campground we are using is Deer Lake Ministries, located about 3 hours north of Toronto.

Please be advised that we will be having the opportunity for campers to be baptized if they so choose.  If you would like to come and join us for that please let us know and we can give you more information.

Cost & Rates

Jr. High Camp fees include camp meals, accommodations, transport to and from TACF Church to camp site, and a camp FW Memorable item. 
Freshwind Rate (by April 30/09) - $335
Regular Rate (May 1 - July 13/09) - $355
Late Rate (after July 14/09) - $375

Jr. High Camp Registration Process:

1st Step: Fill out a Jr. High Camp Registration form:

2nd Step: Submit a PDF copy of the form by simply clicking the "Submit by Email" button and send to jam@tacf.org, or submit a printed out form to the Contact Center via fax at (416) 674 8465, or mail in completed form with payment to: TACF 272 Attwell Drive Toronto, ON M9W 6M3.

Sr. High Camp (Grades 9-12)

Details:

Sr. High camp runs from Saturday, August 22 to Friday, August 28, 2009

Camp Freshwind is all about God, friends, and adventure. We have some of the most amazing times of worship and teaching of the entire year at Camp - you'll be HUGELY impacted by God's presence. Plus, everyday you'll have tons of opportunities to participate in games and camp activities (not to mention compete for our camp mascot)!  Camp is being held in beautiful Haliburton, ON. The campground has a beautiful lake, water sports, basketball & volleyball courts, and great food!  

Cost

Camp Freshwind fees include Camp T-Shirt, camp meals, accommodations, transport to and from the camp site, and a camp FW Memorable item.

Rates

Freshwind Rate (by May 30/08) - $335
Regular Rate (June 1 - July 13/08) - $365
Late Rate (after July 14/08) - $385

Camp Staff Applications

This job description is provided so you can prayerfully consider applying to be one of our staff members at Camp Freshwind (FW) for either our Jr. High or Sr. High week.ÂApplications can be downloaded below and must be submitted via fax or in person to the Youth Network by Wednesday, July 1 2009.

STAFF POSITIONS

We have two primary positions open for applications; Camp Counselor and Counselor in Training (CIT).ÂBoth of these roles are vital parts to Camp FW running smoothly and effectively.

To apply as a CIT, the minimum age requirement is 16 for Jr. High Camp and 18 for Sr. High Camp.

To apply as a Counselor, the minimum age requirement is 18 for Jr. High Camp and 20 for Sr. High Camp.

STAFF REQUIREMENTS

In order to qualify as a staff member at Camp Freshwind you will have to meet the following criteria:

Age Requirements - see above

Application Form - submitted by July 1 2009

Training - There is a mandatory training involved for all staff members that will be held during the month of August.ÂJr. High Staff training is August 7-8 2009.ÂSr. High Staff training is to be announced.

Police Check - obtained through your local police station, indicating a clear record (fees may apply which will be covered by TACF upon approval to a staff position), forms are available from TACF at request.

Verbal Screening - an interview with two of our pastoral team to ask questions to ensure the safety of all our members at Camp FW.ÂThe screening is confidential and is to be completed before departing for camp.

APPLICATIONS

No staff member will be released to join camp unless the staff requirements have been completed.ÂUpon acceptance of the application, the Youth Network will contact you using the contact information provided in your application.
